Matthew Martin (IPOP Photography)

Fine Art Photographer

Since 2017 I have been fortunate enough to call Canada home! With vast, rich, and dramatic landscapes there is much to explore. With a camera in my hand I am in my happy place! So whether it is the coldness of a brutal winter in the Rockies or the engulfing heat of a prairie summer, every chance I get, you will find me outside, exploring locations and hopefully creating the next image.

Born and raised in the small seaside town of Skegness on the East coast of England, I grew up in the era of film photography (showing my age) and while I had exposure to film (excuse the pun) I really didn't get fully involved in photography until my early 30's. During my years, I have been fortunate to travel extensively and experiencing many place / cultures; it was the ability to hold onto those precious moments that finally drew me to photography. By my 30's digital photography was in full swing. Digital technology and software over the years has allowed us to push the boundaries of photography and while change can be seen both positively and negatively; while I tend to embrace the ever changing nature of photography and all the resources we now have at our disposal I try to keep the scene to how I saw it on the day.

Through the medium of photography my purpose is to capture and share the stories and landscape of this ever changing world; produce work which takes the viewer with me, back to moment I hit that shutter button, a chance to view the image and hopefully provide some escape from the fast and changing world we live in. I believe if photography is done well it will create emotion and that is truly powerful!

Throughout my photography journey, I am fortunate to have my work sell globally, appear in news publications and be shown on national television; all of which I am extremely proud of.

To follow my journey, come and see me on my social media below to find out where I am next, and always feel free to reach out to me; I love feedback and meeting people.
